One day, as I was walking home from school, I found a cat, sleeping in front of my block. I didn’t know whose it was or where it had come from. Soon, my friends also joined me and we began brainstorming ideas about where the cat could have come from. It was a very gentle cat, with soft grey fur and some black stripes. When it woke up, it began to walk around us. After a while, I guess it sensed that we were safe and that we didn’t come to harm it. We began to play with it.
It loved to jump up and down onto the little ledge. When we sat down on the ledge, it loved to crawl under our legs and it stayed there for quite a while. We named her Minima. Whenever we tried to get up and sneak home, it would follow us.
One day, me and my friend Abigail were cycling home from our tennis class. We went to check on Minima. When we reached, we saw many groups of kids who were trying to play with Minima. But it wouldn’t even move. It looked frightened. Me and Abigail pushed through the crowd and began scolding all the kids there. Abigail began to pet it and Minima began to calm down. We began to shoo all the kids away. We discovered something strange. Minima had a scar on the back of its neck. The scar looked like a pinch scar. So, me and Abigail went to buy a band-aid for Minima. We put it on its scar. The next day, me and all my friends went to see Minima. It recognized us and began purring. We checked on her injury, and it was all better!
That day, there was a bowl of water, a bowl of cat food, and a bowl of milk for Minima. There was no one around. So, we didn’t know who had kept these for Minima. We played with it for a while. As we were getting up to go home, Minima began meowing loudly and was pointing somewhere with its tail, as if it was trying to show us something. We thought that something was wrong. So, we followed it into a bush where her kittens were. They were super tiny and adorable! We started to take care of them as well.
One day, me and Abigail brought some cheese for Minima to eat. Minima LOVES cheese! She was happily eating our cheese when some teenage boys began to scare Minima with their ball. Minima stepped back and looked at us in fear. We began to scold them and they ran away.
One day, my friend Aaradhya got scratched by Minima really badly that she had to get band-aids on her hand. After that, me and my friends decided never to go near Minima ever again.
Two weeks have passed and now, me and my friends don’t see Minima in our society. But, me and my friends hope that it is safe and sound.
