The Land of Won't
An Introduction to "The Won'tlings" by Ralph Bailey

Children, could I have a word with you, but if there's more a crowd will do.
This may seem like a strange request, but to tell it right I'll do my best.

There is a place so I've been told where Won'tlings live a life alone,
You'll never see them doing things, you'll never see a Smiling smile,
never see a Laughling laugh, never hear a Singling sing.

There's many a song been unsung, many a deed left undone.
Problem is you can't get staff to even make a Laugling laugh.

Now I know it's true of many folk, you can't get done the deeds you've spoke,
but down there little ones it's just a joke. Down there in the Land of Won't.

Now should you see a Blinkling blink or even hear a Speakling speak,
Be sure to tell the King of all, the one and only man they call,
The Man that actually does it all,
King Will of the Land of Won't.

The moral of this tale as told is true of even young and old,
The ones that  will and the ones that won't.
So in my heart I really hope you'll never be in the Land of Won't.
