Background
John was born the third oldest of twelve children to Mr. and Mrs. Peter G. Sloe on March 3, 1953. He graduated from Mayfield High School in 1971 and was inducted into the Mayfield High School Alumni Hall of Fame in April 1998. The Alumni Hall of Fame has about fifty inductees from nearly 5,000 graduates during the past twelve to thirteen years. He received a BBA degree in Accounting from Cleveland State University in 1977, and earned an MBA degree in finance in 1983 also from Cleveland State. He passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 1987-88.
Eaton Corporation employed John from 1977 to 1987. He started as Accountant-Trainee and left as Division Controller. He was employed by Denman Tire Corporation from 1987 to 1992. He joined as Chief Financial Officer and left as President and Chief Executive Officer. He started Sloe and Associates Management Consulting in 1993 to assist companies in improving productivity, efficiency and profitability. In 1996, he was recruited by CEO to join the publicly-traded company, Cold Metal Products, Inc, to lead the growth-oriented strategic planning process. He left after three years.
While spending time with his family, His wife and he decided to start with a creative idea and turn it into a 100% eCommerce business. Currently he is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, the American Institute of CPA's and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as President of the Walden Golf and Tennis Club, Chairman for the Bishop's Appeal Catholic Charities Fundraiser, and is very active in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
