Background

Born the mongrel son of two elderly wood cutters, David Harper was left in the woods at a tender age to fend for himself. Not having the wits of a Hansel, or the beauty of a Gretel, David was too stupid to escape the evil Witch and, being too stringy to eat, was made to perform manual labor every day throughout his formative years.

As an adult, David got a job as a stock boy in a small book shop.  With back breaking labor, putting in 25 hour days, 375 days a year, David was able to expand the delapidated book shop into an international Fortune 500 book seller with stores in Salzburg, Paris, London, Venice, and parts of the Orient.

David's next goal is to divide his immense fortune between philanthropic work in Asia, bringing free enterprise to Red China, and to sail solo around the globe.
