Colin and Kitty At Home on a Bad "Cold" Day

Colin had a cold. He hurt all over.

He was very tired.

He was very stuffy and sneezy.

Short on breath and wheezy.

His eyes itched and watered. He took his glasses off.

He felt too sick for school. He felt too sick to do anything, but lying on the  couch. Feeling sick. He didn't feel like doing any work. At all.

He didn't feel like doing any playing. At all.

He didn't feel like doing any eating. Or drinking. At all.

He didn't feel like the TV. At all.

He didn't feel like his computer. At all.

He didn't feel like the phone. At all.

He didn't even feel like his games. At all.

So what did Colin feel like?

A boy, sick at home. That's all.

Colin's cat came to the couch. He crouched and pounced.

"Ouch", said Colin.

"What a grouch, kitty."

But Kitty stayed. She did not mind the cold. She did not mind the grouch. At all.

Kitty's fur was soft and warm.

Kitty made soft purrs under Colin's hand.

Kitty slept on Colin's chest.

Colin felt better. "Thank you, Kitty!"
