Background

Sandra Ferguson Williams is the second child of Garvin McBee Ferguson and Cleo M. Cole Ferguson. She was born in Camden, Tennessee on February 2, 1936, during a snowstorm. She was born into a military family with over two hundred years of military service. Grandfather John Henry Ferguson served in the Army with President Teddy Roosevelt. Grandfather William Bean Ferguson was the brother of Captain Champ Ferguson. Sandra Ferguson Williams grew up in a Naval Officer's family. Her father, Garvin McBee Ferguson, was serving in Pearl Harbor during the bombing, in World War II. She lived and was educated in California, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. She married Joseph Vincent Williams after High School and attended the IBM School in Memphis, Tennessee. She is the mother of four children and the grandmother of seven. She has worked in data processing in Tennessee and Chicago, Illinois. She worked with husband Joseph in his air conditioning company in Jackson, Tennessee.

Williams wrote her first poem while attending Grove High School in Paris, Tennessee. Her writing is a gift from the Lord, and through his calling she reaches out to others. She writes Inspirational Music, Card and Chorus Verse, Poetry, and Children's Stories. Her Children's Stories are Stories she tells her own Grandchildren.
